Android 8.0 Orellete (no longer Oreo) set to be announced today

A Google teaser with the file name GoogleOreo_Teaser_0817_noDroids (1).mp4 was briefly available on G+, talking about Android O's market name.

Well, with few hours left until the official reveal, a new rumor points to a completely different naming for the Android O. Cliff Wade, customer support manager for Nova Launcher, claims the name of Google's next iterative mobile platform will be Android 8.0 Orellete.

He claims the information comes from a source who wants to remain anonymous, but he does seem certain that Google will not name its new OS Android Oreo, as previously suggested by numerous leaks.

Orellete is a type of sweet Catalan pastries that are usually served at weddings. It's unclear why would Google choose this name over the Oreo , but it might have something to do with the company that produces the popular cookies.
